Charles Law Apparatus, Alternate Model

This apparatus is used to determine the co-efficient of
expansion of a gas at constant pressure.
It consists of a glass U-tube with a bulb and tap at the
upper end of one limb, the other limb open, enclosed in
glass cylindrical jacket. An outlet tube comes out from the
bottom of the U-tube, passes through a bung and terminates in a tap. Bung has two holes, one of it is fitted
with glass tube, rubber tube and pinch clip. The bulb has a
capacity of 7ml and stem beneath is graduated 3 x 0.1 cc
allowing for an expansion over a range of 100°C. The
apparatus clamp-able by a single clamp and only 20 cc of
mercury is needed. Supplied without mercury. |
