With wooden base 70 x 70 mm and 12 mm dia wooden pillar supporting a steel pivot. Overall height 100 mm.
Dip Needle (MG-3041)
With Cobalt steel needle, 10 cm long, graduated quadrant fully rotatable on metal base, divided at 45° .
Dip Needle (MG-3042)
With steel needle 10cm long on jewelled bearings, with circular metal scale, 13cm dia. and anti parallex mirror, both rotatable about vertical axis. Aluminium base 15cm dia. marked at four quadrants. Complete with extra needle dimensionally identical to first but un-magnetised.
Dip Needle, Precision Type (MG-3043)
An accurately balanced magnetic needle strongly magnetised is fitted with hardened steel pivot marking in jewels cup bearings. The needle can be easily removed for reversal. The inclination scale is chrome brass graduated in degrees 0-90º four times. The case is made of non-magnetic steel alloy, deco painted, has easily removable plate glass window and rotates fully on a heavy brass base, its rotation can be measured by a brass chrome dial reading 0- 360º. Itis fitted with leveling screw and spirit level.
Magnetising and Demagnetising Coil (MG-3044)
For demonstrating the procedures, but also useful for remagnetising old magnets, compass needles and for general use as a powerful electromagnet. It comprises a solenoid wound with insulated copper wire and mounted on a base complete with switch and 4 mm terminals. Solenoid 250 x 35 mm length x diameter. Operating voltage 12 V a.c. or d.c. at 6 A. Magnetising possible by a.c. or d.c. However, De-magnetising can be accomplished by a.c. only.
Demagnetising Solenoid (MG-3045)
Solenoid is wound with 250 turns of heavy gauge enameled copper wire on insulating bobbin 80 x 19 mm (length x I. D.) to take 2 A for a period upto 30 min will be able to accept rectangular magnets of cross section upto 15 x 6 mm, fitted with 4 mm sockets.
