Newton's Rings

Two pieces of glass, one ground flat and the other with a
slightly convex surface, are clamped together within two
plastic/metal rings. Varying tension on the rings produces
interference rings. Demonstrates the precision attained in
grinding flat glass surfaces. Aperture 30 mm, outer dia 60
mm. |
